Maternal Health Task Force

PROJECT: Logo design

ROLE: Designer

In 2008, the Gates Foundation awarded EngenderHealth a grant to launch the Maternal Health Task Force (MHTF). Today, the MHTF is operated by Harvard University’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and its mission is focused on creating “strong, well-informed and integrated community of individuals around the globe focused on ending preventable maternal mortality and morbidity worldwide.”

In the logo, I used overlapping shapes and a central ring to symbolize the community of diverse individuals unified in a common purpose. Years have passed, but the MHTF continues to rely on the logo and use its motifs in their materials.

The logo won an American Graphic Design Award in 2008.
