I have often considered printmaking to be the parent of graphic design. I have few lithographs and engravings worth sharing, but I\u2019ve made many monoprints and linocuts over the years.<\/p>

Unlike modern graphic design, printmaking is far more tactile. You must scrape, scratch, carve, and build the drawing, or etch it through a series of chemical treatments. Compared to pixels that only require tiny physical pushes on keyboards and pointing devices, printmaking is hard labor. Admittedly, there is no easy \u201cundo\u201d feature in linoleum or limestone.<\/p>
