DTC 477: Spring 2020: Calendar

COVID-19 Distance Learning Version


ONLINE DISTANCE LEARNING NOTICE:
In response to the COVID-19 distance learning adjustment, the calendar for this course has been restructured according to Units and Lessons, rather than by dates. In addition, several assignments and projects have been modified significantly from the original calendar, which is available online only as a reference.

Units 1 and 2: Previously in DTC 477

Before the COVID-19 adjustment, the major Units of this class were:

  • Unit 1: HTML and CSS: an intensive review and refresh of your HTML and CSS skills.
  • Unit 2: PHP and server-side programming: an introduction to the basics of server-side programming in PHP, including form processing and database access.

Unit 3: JavaScript — Lessons & Resources

The remainder of the semester will be spent on JavaScript-related projects, frequently integrating knowledge from previous Units. Class time will be replaced by a mix of recorded lectures/demonstrations with links to online references and tutorials. Instead of dates, you should follow the sequence presented below.

Unit 3: JavaScript — Tiny Projects

Tiny Projects for Unit 3 will be assigned shortly. In the meanwhile, you should work through resources and tutorials, and experiment with the JavaScript demonstrations provided in class to develop your understanding of JavaScript.


Unit 3: JavaScript — Final Test

There will be a Unit 3: JavaScript test on Blackboard, due before the end of the semester.
